Dormouse monitoring project c Tom Marshall

Help the Trust analyse some of its data sets, so that we can better inform our decision making and assess whether what we are doing is working or not.

Help the Trust analyse some of its data sets, so that we can better inform our decision making and assess whether what we are doing is working or not.

Location: Plumgarths/remote working

Commitment: Flexible

Cumbria Wildlife Trust produces lots of data (Foulshaw vegetation data, breeding bird records from Walney/Foulney/Rockcliffe, hedgerow project data, grassland restoration project data, peatland project data etc). However, the staff do not have the time to analyse this. It would also be useful to write up the results and seek publication. It will help the Trust better understand its land management and the value of our work, lead to better conservation outcomes and potentially raise the Trust’s profile and reputation.

We are looking for people with skills and experience in data analysis, statistics and the understanding of results. The role requires excellent IT skills, particularly in spreadsheets. Good verbal, written and organisations skills would be useful.

Full training and information will be provided to help you learn about the Cumbria Wildlife Trust projects, and the tools available for gathering and managing data.

This role affords a unique opportunity for you to:

  • work with project teams across the Trust.
  • make a difference by helping the Trust better achieve conservation outcomes.
  • learn how Trust works and gain valuable experience working for a conservation charity.

Role suitable for wheelchair user

Role not suitable for under 16s
