From the M6 heading north:
- leave the M6 at junction 36 and take the first exit towards Kendal on the roundabout
- follow the A591 for 3 miles until the next roundabout
- at the roundabout take the first exit signed to Crook
- after 100 metres turn right into Plumgarths.
From the M6 heading south:
- leave the M6 at junction 39
- follow the A6 into Kendal
- go right at the mini roundabout following signs for Windermere
- go straight on at the traffic lights
- follow the road around the bend to the right and go straight on at the traffic lights
- head up Windermere Road until you reach a roundabout
- take the second exit at the roundabout signed to Crook
- after 100 metres turn right into Plumgarths.
From the A591 heading south:
- from Windermere continue staight on the A591
- at the roundabout get into the right-hand lane and take the third exit signed to Crook
- after 100 metres turn right into Plumgarths.
