North Cumbria
Outdoor Learning in Carlisle
Thanks to funding from the Ernest Cook Trust, we're currently working with selected schools and groups in the Carlisle area, providing in-school visits, outdoor activities and Forest School sessions. The project aims to enable others to make best use of their spaces and resources and to continue outdoor learning independently.
East Cumbria
Cold Springs, Penrith
Following the generous donation of land near the town centre, we are creating a large community wildlife area for use by the public. Groups are helping us with planting trees and wildflowers, creating ponds and hedges for all to enjoy.
South Cumbria
Witherslack Wetlands
Three nature reserves to the north of Kendal make up the Witherslack Wetlands which provides a wide range of woodland and wetland learning opportunities for schools and colleges all year round. For more information please visit our Educational visits to Witherslack Wetlands page
Staveley Woodlands
Staveley Woodlands hosts schools that would like to do hands on conservation work, helping and improving the temperate rainforest. Sessions available for all ages. Any tools and protective equipment will be provided. These sessions are free, donations are always welcome. To book or discuss what will work best for you, please email Danni Chalmers or call Danni on 07864 589167
