We are seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to join our team as a cleaning and maintenance officer.

As cleaning and maintenance officer you will oversee and be responsible for the day to day cleanliness and maintenance of our facilities, vehicles and premises at Kendal, Carlisle and Barrow.

This position requires attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to work independently.

Cleaning and Maintenance Officer

Salary: £13.45 ph based on a minimum of 15 hours per week. Some extra hours will be required, for which additional hours will be paid.

We are seeking a professional and experienced cleaning and maintenance officer to ensure that the Trust's premises and pool vehicles and kept satisfactorily cleaned, maintained and in a good state of repair. 

Hours will be worked on average  Monday to Friday, with the flexibility of being able to work additional hours as required, due to regular travel involved to our sites at Kendal, Barrow and Carlisle.

Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Ensure that the Kendal offices, including bathrooms and kitchen areas, are kept clean at all times.
  • Maintain suitable levels of cleaning materials and other housekeeping supplies.
  • Carry out routine internal and external building maintenance work and fulfil maintenance requests at all Trust locations.
  • Regularly check and maintain emergency exits to ensure that they are safe and free from hazards.
  • Periodically check and clean Trust pool vehicles and report any faults to the Head of Facilities.
  • Ensure meeting rooms and the conference kitchen are tidy and laid out as specified for meetings and events.
  • Responsible for general heating and lighting maintenance and settings in the buildings.
  • Respond to security alarm call outs where possible out of office hours.
