A look at why we need Highly Protected Marine Areas, and how they differ from Marine Protected Areas.

Marine themed events between 24 July - 8 August 2022 during National Marine Week; The Wildlife Trusts’ annual celebration of our seas.

We want to see Marine life protected in the North West of England. We campaign for marine conservation zones and marine protected areas in the Irish sea.

What we do: Marine Conservation. Our seas and their wildlife are an essential part of our daily lives; providing us with the oxygen for every second breath we take, fish for our plates and magical wild experiences that can stay with us for a lifetime. Our seas are home to around half of all our wildlife, from microscopic creatures to the second largest fish in the world, the basking shark!
