On Saturday 4th August aspiring artists can learn how to create stunning pastel landscapes at a workshop with local artist and tutor Alex Jakob-Whitworth. Suitable for beginners, part of the day will be spent outdoors at the nature reserve taking inspiration from the landscape and learning new techniques before returning to Mungrisdale Village Hall to complete a piece of art to take home. A refundable deposit of £40 is required to secure a place on this workshop and donations are welcome to cover the cost of tuition and materials.
On Sunday 12th (1:00pm) and Wednesday 22nd August (1:30pm) free guided walks, lasting approximately two hours, will give an overview of this fantastic upland nature reserve, an introduction to its nationally important geology, and an insight in to the work Cumbria Wildlife Trust has done to make it better for people and wildlife. Donations of £5 per person recommended for this walk.
On Friday 17th August join Stuart Colgate of Cumbria Biodiversity Data Centre to learn more caterpillars and their food plants. Some caterpillars can be fussy about what they eat so knowing the favoured plants of different species can be helpful for field identification. A refundable deposit of £35 is required to secure a place on this course.

Located between Keswick and Penrith, near to the village of Mungrisdale, Eycott Hill Nature Reserve is 216 hectares of exceptionally rich wildlife habitat and is a Site of Special Scientific Interest for the wetland plants in the swamps and mires and its geology.
