Get Cumbria Buzzing, Not Buffering
Pollinators powered by Fibrus
Get Cumbria Buzzing, Not Buffering project brings together Cumbria Wildlife Trust and Fibrus broadband to engage communities across Cumbria, supporting and encouraging people to take positive action for pollinators in their area.
Between 2023 and the end of 2025, we'll create or restore flower-rich habitat in 15 community green spaces, ensuring that they’re managed correctly and continue to be pollinator havens long into the future.
We'll also run community planting sessions and pollinator identification days, and 1,500 packets of Cumbrian wildflower seeds will be given out to communities across Cumbria.
Get Cumbria Buzzing, Not Buffering has been made possible through a £150,000 contribution from Fibrus broadband, as part of Hyperfast GB connecting Cumbria, bringing Full Fibre broadband to you.
Fibrus is committed to ensuring we have environmental sustainability at the core of our business. We are excited to be supporting Cumbria Wildlife Trust with delivery of this pollinator project which will restore valuable habitats, improve the natural environment and help in the fight against climate change. As well as engaging with the local community to support their pollinator journey.Rachel Bain, Environmental and Sustainability Specialist for Fibrus

Planting for pollinators at Town View Fields, Kendal
Volunteers, including members of Friends of Nobles Rest and Kendal Conservation Volunteers, joined us to plant over 1,000 meadow wildflowers at Town View Fields in Kendal, building on existing pollinator habitat enhancements here.
Thanks to the support of Friends of Nobles Rest and Westmorland and Furness Council, this area will be transformed into a wildflower haven for both visitors and pollinators to enjoy.
