About the event

Hosted by Cumbria Wildlife Trust, in partnership with Westmorland and Furness Council, this online webinar is aimed at communities, schools and parish councils in South Lakeland who want to take action for nature.  Whether you’re just starting out or are an established group this informative webinar will help you find out what practical support, advice and funding is available locally.

Presentations by Cumbria Wildlife Trust, the Climate and Nature Team and Community Development Officers at Westmorland & Furness Council will be supported with case studies by local groups.

We will share the Biodiversity in the Community Toolkit, look at community projects in the area and learn from the experiences of existing groups.  We’ll cover the Local Nature Recovery Strategy and what funding is available to support biodiversity improvement projects.  You’ll also find out what other practical support is available and help us shape future training opportunities by telling us what support, resources and skills you need.

This session takes place online, so you can join us from the comfort of home. We use Zoom and details of how to join will be provided when you book. Please read the confirmation email carefully.

We expect the session to last one hour, and there will be opportunity to ask questions.
