About the event

A rare chance to join us for a visit to Cumbria’s most exciting and newest conservation project on one of Lakeland’s most iconic mountains.  Project Manager, Pete Jones will lead this moderate 10km walk along mountain tracks to the 'Back o Skidda'.  Along the way, you’ll find out more about our ambitious 100 year plan, including the restoration of native Atlantic rainforest, montane scrub and integral peat bog.

Parking spaces are limited so please car-share where possible.  The route involves some hilly ground and requires a reasonable level of fitness.  The path surface is rough and uneven in places with rocky and muddy sections.  Please be prepared for all weather and bring a packed lunch.  Tea and coffee-making facilities are available at the Blencathra Centre at the end of the walk.
