Three osprey chicks have hatched at Foulshaw Moss Nature Reserve. The first hatched on Friday 20 May, the second on Sunday 22 May and the third on Wednesday 25 May. They typically hatch within two or three days of each other. The parent ospreys, Blue 35 and White YW, who successfully raised and fledged three chicks last year, returned to the nature reserve near Witherslack at the end of March 2022.   

A huge thank you to our faithful ‘osprey watchers’ who keep a close eye on the livestreaming osprey webcam, reporting these landmark sightings as and when they happen.  This helps us locate photos and clips which we can then share with a huge number of osprey followers, online and on social media.

This season, for the first time, there is also a new 180-degree interactive camera, allowing you to choose your view around the birds’ nest.

In June, webcam viewers will be able to watch the parents bringing the chicks food and the next milestone will be when the osprey chicks are tagged in July.

Foulshaw Moss Nature Reserve is open to visitors. It is located near Witherslack, off the A590.
