'Inspired by traditional stories of flora and fauna, the young people created a promenade performance that raised environmental awareness and celebrated the natural world.'

The Laal Youth Theatre is a theatre group for neuro-diverse young people, providing an opportunity for them to reconnect with nature through creativity. As part of our 60th Anniversary celebrations, the group created a promenade performance to raise environmental awareness. Here's more from Co-Director of The Laal Collective, Vicki Maxfield:
'Seeds of Hope was a partnership project between The Laal Collective and Cumbria Wildlife Trust that offered an opportunity for people to reconnect with nature and have fun with art forms that celebrate both them and our natural world.
Thanks to support from The National Lottery Community Fund, The Laal Collective were able to establish a Youth Theatre for neuro diverse young people and create opportunities for the community to contribute to the project, based at Cumbria Wildlife Trust’s Gosling Sike site.
Inspired by traditional stories of flora and fauna, the young people created a promenade performance that raised environmental awareness and celebrated the natural world as part of Cumbria Wildlife Trusts 60th anniversary celebrations. The performance, on 24th July 2022, was attended by local people who said “it took us to another world” and “it’s been really good fun, but also makes you think”.'
