Members-only: High tide bird ID guided walk
Foulney Island,
Roa Island, Barrow in Furness, Cumbria, LA13 0QLAbout the event
Visit Foulney, the island of pebbles brought by glaciers during the last ice age, and learn about the amazing birds that feed and roost here!
This island might be little, but it is home to many species of birds throughout the year.
Meet the assistant warden and learn something new about Foulney’s wildlife.
Bring sturdy footwear and dress for the weather – the island is very exposed and can be very windy! Depending on how many birds are present, the walk could run into the afternoon, so make sure you pack a lunch and plenty of snacks. Bring binoculars if you have them, but a few pairs can be provided.
Be sure to arrive on time – we will need to make our way onto the island before the high tide!
Cost: £5.00
