Poetry inspired by the apple orchard at Gosling Sike by writer-in-residence Susan Cartwright-Smith.

Apple trees at Gosling Sike

Global potential with a star inside.

Out of twigs and rain

Sustenance is born.

The nurturing goddess

overcoming original sin.

Take, eat of me, eat of my flesh,

become one with the world,

breathe with earthy rhythm,

weeping circular tears of dew,

and cast off leaves and shadows.
